CHED offers short course on Halal food standards with field visits to Indonesia

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced on Tuesday that it will offer a short-term in-person course on halal food standards for regular faculty members or technical personnel from higher education institutions (HEIs).

The course will also include field visits in Indonesia.

In a Facebook post, CHED shared that the 10-day course, titled “Halal Food Standard Compliance,” will be conducted in collaboration with Universitas Bakrie and is scheduled to run from October 30 to November 8.

The course is open to a maximum of two faculty members or technical staff from any HEI, whether they work in undergraduate or graduate programs.

“This course is designed for faculty and staff involved in curriculum development and institutional quality assurance, particularly those with expertise in food technology, agriculture, hospitality, tourism, and hotel and restaurant management at both undergraduate and graduate levels,” CHED stated.

Funded under the Continuing Professional Development Studies Grant (CPDSG), the scholarship will cover program and training fees, travel, accommodations, meals, training materials, stipends, certificates of completion, and immersion or field visits in Indonesia.

Interested applicants must be nominated by their respective HEIs and submit all necessary requirements by September 30.
