Chairman's Message

Under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s visionary leadership toward a Bagong Pilipinas, or a New Philippines, we launched the Philippine Halal Industry Development Strategic Roadmap 2024-2028 that aims to double domestic and international Halal output in four years.

With this strategic roadmap, in four years, we plan to make the Philippines the fastest growing Halal hub in the Asia-Pacific, visitors alike and fellow Filipino Muslims will find it easier to access Halalfood and other products in the country;

In implementing our Halal development roadmap, we will double the current 3,000 Halal-certified products and services in the country to 6,000. This would serve the growing domestic and global Halal needs.

Under the plan, the country’s government agencies will work together to attract PHP 230 billion in foreign direct investments and to generate 120,000 jobs over the next four years. We will be inviting foreign companies to invest in Philippine Industry Development as well as encourage large manufacturing companies in the Philippines to produce Halal products to serve our growing local demand and exports.

Halal is not just about food. It is a whole ecosystem that includes Islamic finance, Muslim-friendly travel, modest fashion, Halalpharmaceuticals, Halal cosmetics, and Islamic-themed media and recreation. Apart from production, Halal also covers logistics, marketing, packaging, and branding.

The appeal of Halal products also goes beyond religion. Many non-Muslim individuals worldwide are drawn to Halal products for their known safety, cleanliness, hygiene, and health benefits.

Halal is a sunrise industry. Halal is the future, and we want to be part of that future.

To further strengthen and promote our plans, we have launched‘HALAL-FRIENDLY PHILIPPINES”, a whole-of-government national campaign that will promote the Philippines as the fastest growing and most halal-friendly hub in Asia Pacific by being a customer-centric, collaborative, comprehensive and competitive halal gateway, and destination.

This in line with the national goal to strengthen the Philippine economy by increasing halal domestic consumption and halal exports in different halal sectors in order to drive business growth, attract more investments and boost job creation.

And once we’re able to deliver the required domestic Halalconsumption, it will signal to ourselves and the world the creation of a viable Philippine Halal industry ecosystem already producing for the multi-trillion global Halal demand.

Indeed, the journey ahead is challenging, but it is also exciting as it is filled with immense possibilities.

This vision of a Philippines that is a leader in the global Halalindustry, that has a flourishing and dynamic Halal ecosystem, is part of President Marcos Jr.’s vision of a Bagong Pilipinas. Together, let’s work for a Bagong Pilipinas that is inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous.

Thank you and salam.
