DBM and NCMF secretaries meet to strengthen Halal Industry

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman and National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Sabuddin N. Abdurahim met in Manila to discuss the development of the Philippine Halal industry.

Their meeting focused on advancing the Halal Development Program to ensure wider access to Halal products and services, boosting both local and international trade.

Secretary Abdurahim, a seasoned public servant and respected sheikh, emphasized the need for budgetary support for Hajj operations and Halal industry development, while Secretary Pangandaman, who shares a deep connection with the Muslim community, highlighted her commitment to improving the socio-economic status of Muslim Filipinos.

Both officials were joined by key members from the DBM and NCMF, including Assistant Secretary Mary Anne Z. Dela Vega and Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs Director Rahmatol Mamukid.

Their collaboration marks a significant step toward creating a credible and sustainable Halal industry in the Philippines, benefiting the Muslim community and the nation at large.
