PH opens pavilion at Saudi Halal Expo 2024, expands global Halal presence

The Philippines has officially opened its pavilion at the Saudi Halal Expo 2024, showcasing the country’s growing Halal industry and rich cultural heritage on an international stage.

This milestone represents a strategic move to increase the Philippines’ presence in the global Halal market, with support from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Halal Industry Development Office.

Led by a 64-member Philippine delegation, the pavilion highlights a diverse range of Halal-certified products and innovations. Key organizations involved include the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Department of Agriculture, the Bangsamoro Board of Investments, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, and various Halal certification bodies. The event is also supported by MSMEs and the Philippine Saudi Business Council.

Aleem Guiapal, program manager of the DTI Halal Industry Development Office expressed gratitude to the many partners involved.

The pavilion reflects the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening trade relations and establishing a competitive stance in the Halal economy, positioning the country as a key player in the industry.
