The NCMF-NCR Regional Office, led by Regional Director Dr. Dimapuno A. Datu-Ramos, Jr., held a recognition ceremony and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Zouq Halal Software Corporation, marking a significant partnership to further the development of the Philippine Halal industry.
The event, organized through the Socio-economic Development Division under Chief Ma. Lina U. Batacan, celebrated Zouq as the first NCMF-recognized halal e-commerce platform in the country.
Dr. Datu-Ramos opened the program by congratulating Zouq for advancing the Halal advocacy through digital platforms, highlighting its role in promoting halal products to a broader audience.
In her remarks, NCMF DED Atty. Jehan Jehan Lepail praised the NCMF-NCR for its continued efforts to build sustainable Halal programs that benefit Muslim Filipinos. She commended the partnership as a crucial step in promoting a progressive Halal ecosystem.
Dimnatang Radia, CESO V, Deputy Executive Director of DTI-PTTC-GMEA and Halal Program Brand Manager, expressed his gratitude to the NCMF for its dedication to supporting Muslim Filipinos, particularly in expanding the local halal market. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the NCMF and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
DTI Halal Task Force Program Manager Aleem Guiapal hailed the event as a milestone for both agencies and underscored the potential of the Philippine Halal industry to become competitive and dynamic through digital innovation.
Zouq Halal Software Corporation Operations Manager Rodel Jalal thanked the NCMF for its support, pledging the company’s commitment to providing easy access to halal-certified food through its platform. Other Zouq executives in attendance included Kamil Aquia Tilden (Vice President), Felix “Junie” Tobillo (Vice President of Operations), Marc Lastimosa (Vice President of Finance), and CEO/Chairman Mohamad Aquia.
The NCMF-NCR said that Zouq is an efficient platform for allowing users to order halal food online with ease.
