NCMF-NCR hosts 1st Climate Change Summit, Halal conference highlighted

The NCMF-NCR held its first Climate Change Summit for Muslim communities in Metro Manila, focusing on disaster resilience and climate change adaptation.

The event brought together leaders to discuss the impact of recent typhoons and the need for cooperation in addressing climate challenges.

A key moment was the arrival of Secretary Sabbudin Abdurahim, who had just returned from a Halal conference in Kuala Lumpur.

He oversaw the induction of newly elected officers of the Metro Manila Muslim Consultative Council (MCC), emphasizing collaboration between the community, government, and private sectors.

The summit featured lectures on Islamic perspectives on climate change, sustainable development, and strategies for Muslim and non-Muslim communities to address environmental issues. The event concluded with a workshop where participants shared insights on challenges in Metro Manila.
