The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is intensifying efforts to promote Philippine Halal products globally, as it prepares for the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2024.
DTI Acting Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque met with Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, along with 21 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) set to participate in the showcase on September 5.
During the meeting, Secretary Roque emphasized the critical role of public-private partnerships in securing the Philippines’ place within the vast USD 7.3 trillion global Halal market.
Roquw highlighted how these collaborations could enhance the international visibility and competitiveness of Filipino Halal-certified products, creating new opportunities for local MSMEs.
