95 MSMEs in Region 6 participate in halal certification orientation

The Philippine government remains committed to to business growth with 95 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Region 6 participating in a highly successful virtual “Orientation on Halal Basic Fundamentals and Certification”.

The event, aimed at enhancing understanding of halal principles and certification processes, was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6.

The orientation, which took place today, was marked by a high level of engagement from participants, reflecting the growing interest in halal certification and its potential benefits for local businesses.

Regional Director Rachel N. Nufable of DTI Region 6 played a pivotal role in the event’s success, providing invaluable support and guidance. Her dedication to fostering a halal-friendly business environment was evident throughout the program.

A key highlight of the orientation was the insightful presentation by Raison D. Arobinto, Division Chief of the DTI Halal Industry Development – Project Management Office. His comprehensive session on “Understanding the Philippine Halal Industry and Halal Certification Guidelines” offered participants a deep dive into the intricacies of halal certification, the importance of compliance, and the opportunities it presents for businesses.

Participants were also given the opportunity to learn about Halal Basic Fundamentals, Halal Science, and Global Market Opportunities. These sessions provided a broad overview of halal principles, scientific aspects of halal certification, and the expansive global market that halal-certified products can access.

The success of this orientation underscores the commitment of Region 6 MSMEs to expanding their market reach and ensuring compliance with global standards. It also highlights the importance of continuous education and support from government agencies like DTI in empowering local businesses.
