PH Participates in Thailand Halal Assembly, Strengthening Global Halal Ties

The Philippines joined more than 985 on-site participants from 40 countries and an additional 7,613 virtual attendees from 34 nations at the prestigious Thailand Halal Assembly. Countries such as Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, Oman, China, the United States, Japan, and the Philippines were represented at the event, reflecting the growing global interest in the Halal industry.

Aleem Guiapal, Program Manager of the DTI Halal Industry Development Office, was honored to be invited as one of the key speakers at the Assembly. In his address, Guiapal expressed gratitude to the event’s organizers, Dr. Winai Dahlan and Anat Denyingyhot, for their exceptional hospitality and the opportunity to contribute to the dialogue on the future of the Halal sector.

Guiapal also highlighted the Philippines’ significant role in the global Halal market, noting that as of 2023, the country’s Halal exports had surpassed $6 billion annually. The Philippines’ major export markets include the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and parts of Europe, reinforcing its growing prominence as a trusted supplier of Halal-certified products.

The Thailand Halal Assembly served as a crucial platform for the Philippines to strengthen its international Halal connections, build new partnerships, and showcase its growing Halal industry capabilities. The event underscored the country’s commitment to advancing its Halal sector and enhancing its position in global Halal trade.
