The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos – National Capital Region (NCMF-NCR), led by Regional Director Dimapuno A. Datu-Ramos Jr., hosted a successful “Halal Awareness Education” webinar today via Zoom.
The event, organized by the Socio-Economic Development Division under the leadership of Chief Ma. Lina U. Batacan, was attended by six micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) from Las Piñas and Parañaque.
The webinar was initiated following a request from local MSMEs seeking more knowledge about the Halal industry, which was communicated through PBCR Division Chief Ali Maruhom.
Batacan acknowledged the participants’ proactive approach to learning about Halal standards and expressed her support for their efforts.
In his opening remarks, Chief Maruhom welcomed the attendees and commended their commitment to understanding the Halal industry, noting its growing significance in both local and international markets.
During the webinar, NCMF-NCR staff delivered key presentations to provide the participants with valuable insights. Ms. Rehamna Mama discussed the role of NCMF in the Philippine Halal industry, detailing the principles and guidelines that apply to various sectors, including food, Islamic finance, modest clothing, media, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, logistics, and tourism.
