PH Promotes Halal Industry Growth at ASEAN Roundtable Dialogue

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Visayas showcased the Philippines’ commitment to advancing the halal industry during the ASEAN Halal Chamber of Commerce Roundtable Dialogue. The event highlighted regional efforts to address key challenges and harmonize halal certification standards.

Representing the NCMF were Administrative and Finance Chief Ameraifah Abdulmojib, Socio-Economic Development Division Chief Sittie Saiba Basher Manonggiring, and Cultural Affairs Division Chief Minang Manggis. They emphasized the NCMF’s pivotal role in accrediting Halal Certifying Bodies in the Philippines, ensuring compliance with both local and international standards.

The NCMF also provides vital training and support to stakeholders, fostering the development of halal products and services that meet Islamic guidelines. The roundtable further spotlighted Cebu City’s potential as a hub for halal initiatives, bolstering collaborations across the ASEAN region.

This engagement underscores the Philippines’ active participation in regional efforts to strengthen the halal industry and enhance its global competitiveness.
