The Philippine Halal Mission, led by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), engaged Saudi investors in trade and investment talks at the Halal Trade and Investment Forum on October 31, 2024, at the Federation of Saudi Chambers Headquarters in Riyadh.
The mission included representatives from the Philippine Embassy, Department of Agriculture, Department of Budget and Management, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and Filipino companies from the food, finance, energy, and halal sectors.
During the forum, both Filipino and Saudi representatives explored partnerships to enhance halal trade and promote Islamic banking, with Filipino companies seeking to expand their footprint in Saudi Arabia’s halal market.
DTI officials highlighted the Kingdom’s growing demand for halal products, presenting new opportunities for Philippine businesses to tap into the Middle Eastern market while advancing the Philippines’ competitive stance in the global halal industry.
