The Philippine Halal delegation, led by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Halal Development and Trade Office, recently visited LuLu Hypermarket in Riyadh to discuss a potential partnership aimed at expanding the availability of Philippine products and services in Saudi Arabia.
The delegation met with LuLu Hypermarket executives to explore how halal-certified Filipino products, especially in food and consumer goods, could better serve the growing demand within the Kingdom.
LuLu Hypermarket, one of the largest retail chains in the Middle East and a key player in the region’s retail industry, is known for its extensive range of international products, often tailored to meet the cultural and dietary needs of local communities.
Established in 2000, LuLu has since grown to over 200 stores across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and India, with a strong reputation for offering quality products from around the world.
The chain’s emphasis on halal offerings and international brands makes it a strategic partner for the Philippines in reaching Middle Eastern consumers.
Through this collaboration, the Philippines aims to increase exports of Filipino halal-certified products and strengthen trade relations with Saudi Arabia.
