Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Philippines executive Aleem Guiapal and Bangsamoro Board of Investment Chairman Mohamad Pasigan represented the Philippines at the opening of the Saudi Halal Expo 2024 on Monday, where they highlighted the Philippines’ growing potential as a halal-friendly investment destination, with particular emphasis on the Bangsamoro region.
The Saudi Halal Expo, held annually in Riyadh, is a premier gathering for the global halal industry, attracting businesses, government leaders, and experts worldwide to explore market trends, industry innovations, and networking opportunities within the halal sector.
Guiapal is expected to underscore the Philippines’ commitment to enhancing its halal industry, noting government-backed initiatives aimed at establishing the country as a favorable environment for halal investments.
He will also highlight the developments in infrastructure and market support for halal-certified products that align well with Saudi Arabia’s established halal market.
The presence of Filipino officials at the Saudi Halal Expo underscores the Philippines’ dedication to strengthening its role in the global halal industry and fostering international partnerships to drive inclusive economic growth in the Bangsamoro.
