The Philippine Ulama Congress Organization Inc. has expressed full support for the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Halal-Friendly Philippines Program, which seeks to enhance local businesses, attract investments, and increase public awareness of the halal industry.
In a statement, the organization urged the government to strengthen its backing of halal initiatives, emphasizing the importance of robust policies for the industry’s growth. They also commended Director Aleem Guiapal of the Halal Development and Trade Office for his efforts in advancing the Philippine Halal Strategic Development Roadmap.
The Ulama Congress views halal as both an economic opportunity and a religious responsibility, ensuring ethical and trustworthy products for all.
