The Philippines is ramping up its efforts to strengthen the Halal industry, aiming to boost investments, public knowledge, and the country’s branding as a Halal-friendly destination.
In a video posted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Aleem Guiapal, Halal Industry Development program manager emphasized the importance of understanding and growing the sector.
“Mapalago natin ang negosyo, investment, at kaalaman ng publiko kung ano ang Halal,” Guiapal said, underlining the need for businesses and consumers to be well-informed about Halal practices.
The Philippines is also stepping up its participation in international Halal events. After joining the Malaysia International Halal Expo, the country is set to take part in major Halal showcases in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi in the coming months. These events provide a platform for the Philippines to promote its Halal products and services, attract investments, and engage with key players in the global Halal economy.
Through these efforts, the government aims to position the Philippines as a significant player in the Halal industry, driving economic growth and capitalizing on the growing demand for Halal products and services worldwide.
