Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Halal Industry Development Program Manager, Aleem Guiapal, met with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General, Secretary Jose Francisco Kiko Benite on Oct. 18 to discuss the creation of training programs for individuals and organizations seeking Halal certification.
The partnership aims to provide specialized training that will help businesses and professionals comply with international Halal standards, enhancing the Philippines’ position in the global Halal market. This initiative supports the government’s ongoing efforts to promote the Halal industry, expand market access, and boost competitiveness.
Also present at the meeting were TESDA Deputy Director General Rosanna Urdaneta, TESDA Executive Director Janet Abasolo, and other key officials from TESDA and DTI. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering Filipino industries with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the Halal sector.
