The Philippines took a significant step towards enhancing its halal ecosystem and technical-vocational education and training (TVET) during a meeting between officials from both nations.
Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi met with Philippine representatives including TESDA chief Kiko Benitez to discuss the future of TVET and the halal industry.
The discussions focused on strengthening the halal ecosystem in the Philippines to create more opportunities for halal-certified businesses and ensure better access to halal products for the country’s Muslim population. Both sides expressed optimism about the potential of the partnership to boost competitiveness and drive economic growth in their respective halal markets.
The collaboration is expected to deepen bilateral ties between Malaysia and the Philippines, opening new avenues for industries and the workforce in both nations. The partnership aims to provide enhanced support to halal businesses while fostering a robust educational framework to prepare Filipinos for the demands of the growing halal industry.
