The Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs (BMEA), led by Director IV Eng’r. Rahmatol M. Mamukid, met with National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Sheikh Sabuddin N. Abdurahim to advance key initiatives for the growth of the Halal industry.
Among the main topics discussed was the development of a dedicated Halal Division within BMEA, which will soon begin hiring qualified personnel.
This move is expected to strengthen the agency’s ability to oversee and support Halal certification and industry expansion in the Philippines.
Another key project presented was the development of a Halal app, aimed at streamlining services and providing accessible information on Halal certification.
DMO III Abdul Jalim Pangandaman, who leads the project, received full backing from Abdurahim, who emphasized the importance of securing funding for the initiative.
The meeting also included discussions about BMEA’s involvement in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2024.
BMEA and NCMF reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the welfare of Muslim Filipinos by focusing on Halal industry development and other related initiatives.
