The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)’s Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs (BMEA) hosted a delegation from GISB Holding, a leading Malaysian company, to explore collaborative efforts aimed at advancing Halal development initiatives in the Philippines on Sept.2.
The delegation, led by Tuan Nik Hazani Nik Mohamad, an advisory board member of GISB Holding, included Tuan Muhd Fakhruddin, Tuan Nordin Azman Ibrahim, and Tuan Suhaimi Abdul Rahim.
They were warmly received by Secretary Sheikh Sabuddin N. Abdurahim, alongside Chief Almojin D. Pandapatan of the BMEA’s Cooperative Division.
The discussions focused on the potential establishment of Halal facilities in Metro Manila and other key areas in Luzon.
This move is seen as a crucial step in enhancing the Philippines’ capacity to meet both domestic and international Halal standards.
Engr. Rahmatol Mamukid, Director of the BMEA, emphasized the bureau’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with GISB Holding and the NCMF.
“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the Philippines’ journey to becoming a key player in the global Halal industry,” Mamukid stated.
The meeting concluded with a dinner hosted by Secretary Abdurahim in honor of the GISB Holding delegation, symbolizing the growing ties between the two organizations.
The BMEA expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this partnership, anticipating that it will significantly contribute to the development of the Halal industry across the Philippines, in line with the country’s broader economic goals.
