DTI partners with Zouq Philippines to expand access to Halal products and services

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has announced a strategic collaboration with Zouq Philippines, a Filipino-owned tech company, to enhance public access to halal products and services across the country.

The collaboration is part of the DTI Halal Industry Development Office’s strategic plan, which was launched on January 23, 2024.

During the planning phase, DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman emphasized the need for an app to make halal products more accessible to the public.

“This partnership with Zouq Philippines brings that vision to life,” said Aleem Guiapal, DTI Halal Industry Development program manager.

Zouq Philippines, known for its comprehensive halal marketplace, offers a range of services through its platforms, including:

Halal Food Delivery App: A user-friendly platform for ordering halal food from various restaurants.

Zouq Mart: An online marketplace providing a wide selection of halal products.

Modest Fashion: A curated collection of clothing adhering to modest fashion principles.

Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics: Halal-certified health and beauty products.

Farming: Promoting halal agricultural practices.

Hotel and Tourism: Halal-friendly travel and accommodation options.

Islamic Finance: Financial services that comply with Islamic principles.

E-Wallets: Secure transactions for halal products and services.

The partnership aims to create a more halal-friendly environment in the Philippines. In the initial phase, Zouq’s halal mobile delivery apps are already operational in key regions, including the National Capital Region (NCR), Cavite, General Santos (Gensan), and Davao.
