The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Halal Program, led by Program Manager Aleem Siddiqui M. Guiapal, recently met with Rajmal Rafeeque, Country Manager for Lulu Supermarket’s Philippines operations, to explore opportunities for local Halal producers and MSMEs to expand their reach internationally.
During the meeting, Rafeeque expressed Lulu’s strong support for DTI’s initiative to provide a platform for Filipino Halal products, stating that Lulu is committed to offering access across its 270 branches, including those in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India.
Guiapal emphasized the significance of such partnerships in strengthening the global presence of Filipino Halal products.
“Collaborations like this are key to showcasing the quality and diversity of our local products to a global market,” Guiapal said.
The partnership aligns with DTI’s goal to empower local Halal producers and MSMEs by enhancing their access to international markets and contributing to the growth of the Philippine Halal industry.
