PEZA showcases Halal Industry growth potential at Global Fusion Event

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) highlighted the emerging investment opportunities in ecozones, with a special focus on the halal sector at the  2024 Global Fusion Event, held on August 20 at the Manila Hotel.

The event put a spotlight on the growing investment opportunities within the Philippines’ halal industry. 

The event, organized by Arkat Lawanen in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), aimed to attract local and international investors to explore the Philippines’ burgeoning halal market as part of a broader strategy to boost economic growth.

PEZA Deputy Director General Anidelle Joy M. Alguso presented an insightful overview of the halal market, which is a critical area of focus for the government, was highlighted as a key investment sector with vast potential for growth and development.

The event, themed “U-VIP Singapore and Philippines 2024: A Unity of Vision, Innovation, and Prosperity,” was attended by delegates from Singapore and various Philippine government officials. 

The DTI, on the other hand, stressed the importance of the halal industry in the Philippines, noting that it is not only about food but extends to other sectors such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and tourism. 

“The halal market is an untapped resource that offers tremendous opportunities for both local and foreign investors,” the DTI said. 

With the increasing global demand for halal products, the Philippines aims to leverage its Muslim population and strategic location to become a significant player in the Asia-Pacific halal market.
