Halal champions forge strategic alliance to boost PH Halal industry

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos- National Capital Region witnessed a significant step forward in promoting the Philippine Halal industry on August 13, 2024, at the Dusit Hotel in Makati City, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Zouq Halal Software Corporation and the Philippine Ulama Congress Organization, Inc. (PUCOI).

The event marked a collaboration aimed at streamlining and enhancing the Halal certification process in the country.

The MOU was signed in the presence of esteemed guests, including NCMF-NCR Regional Director Dimapuno A. Datu-Ramos, Jr., who was invited to witness the event.

The partnership between Zouq and PUCOI was described by Ustd. Abdulrazaq Madale, representing PUCOI, as a strategic business decision that aligns with their advocacy to promote and support the growth of the Philippine Halal industry.

Rodel Jalal, representing Zouq Halal Software Corporation, highlighted the importance of partnering with a recognized Halal certifying body like PUCOI to ensure a more efficient and seamless process for their merchants and PUCOI’s halal-certified clients. This collaboration is expected to bolster the credibility and reach of Halal-certified products and services in the Philippines.

The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Abdulwali Ugsalan from the NGO Risale Nur Philippines, who showed support by donating books to the NCMF-NCR Office. The NCMF-NCR expressed its full support for the partnership and is considering a potential MOU with Zouq Halal Software Corporation to further enhance their efforts in promoting Halal initiatives in the region.

The event concluded with a collective expression of gratitude, underscoring the importance of collaboration in advancing the Halal industry in the Philippines.
