Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco highlighted the Marcos Administration’s efforts to position the Philippines as a Halal and Muslim-friendly tourism destination at the Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Summit, organized by the Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Exposition.
Frasco recognized the global potential of the Halal industry to drive economic growth and enhance the tourism landscape and several key initiatives have been instituted by the administration.
Among these are the Department of Tourism-led Halal and Muslim-friendly Tourism Expo and the Philippine Experience Program. The administration has also been actively pursuing the accreditation of Muslim-friendly establishments across the nation.
The Tourism Secretary expressed gratitude to the Universal Islamic Foundation, the Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Exposition, the Department of Trade and Industry, and all partners from both government and private sectors for their collective efforts in transforming the Philippines into a Halal-friendly destination.
These strides underscore the commitment to fostering a more inclusive and diverse tourism environment, paving the way for increased economic opportunities and cultural enrichment.
