The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) highlighted the government’s initiative to promote the Philippine Halal industry, including the campaign “Halal-friendly Philippines.”
During the seminar on Halal Trade and Investment Opportunities organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Quezon City (PCCI-QC) on July 31, Aleem Siddiqui M. Guiapal, Program Manager of the DTI – Halal Industry Development Office, introduced the programs and initiatives related to Halal promotion.
Guiapal noted that “Halal-friendly Philippines” is a national campaign aimed at promoting the country as a premier halal-friendly hub in the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative seeks to establish the Philippines as a customer-centric, collaborative, comprehensive, and competitive halal gateway and destination.
“This is in line with the national goal to strengthen the Philippine economy by increasing halal domestic consumption and halal exports across various sectors, driving business growth, attracting more investments, and boosting job creation,” Guiapal shared in his presentation.
The seminar aimed at providing business leaders and entrepreneurs with critical insights into the growing halal market.
Industry experts discussed key topics, including market trends, regulatory frameworks, and consumer behavior, equipping participants with the knowledge needed to navigate and succeed in the halal industry.
